Ai - Founder / VELOUR Beauty Parlour

Ai has been a beauty therapist for 20 years and she has been madly in love with her job since day 1 of her career and this has never changed. She finds joy in making a little difference in a customer’s day by making them feel and look fantastic.

Ai has been enjoying treating customers from all over the world, in major cosmopolitan cities like Tokyo and Sydney.

Through her unique experience in diverse environments in Sydney and Tokyo, Ai has acquired expertise in tailored customer service as well as all round beauty treatments to cater to different skin types, conditions, and treatments (such as lashes, brows, body, nails).

Ai’s strongest focus is on the holistic and therapeutic approach with any beauty treatment. Not only providing 5-star results with treatments, but Ai’s passion is also helping her customers feel totally relaxed and good about themselves when they leave her salon, this is what VELOUR Beauty Parlour is about.

Her mission is to support the community at VELOUR Beauty Parlour by creating a local sanctuary where everyone can relax in a safe and peaceful environment.

Ai is well-known as a crazy cat mummy. Her popular heavenly head massage is practiced on and authorised by her fur-baby Mr.Kabu.

Simi (Simran) from Nepal. Influenced by makeup videos on YouTube and Instagram, she started working as a freelance makeup artist after high school in 2015. Later, she joined beauty school and started doing beauty professionally from 2018. Simi loves doing eyebrows and facial treatments. She loves to see how happy and relaxed clients are after the treatments.

Fun fact about Simran, her childhood nickname was beans (in Nepali -  Simi) which it still is, because she was as skinny as a string bean!

Alexis brings over 10 years of experience in the beauty industry, with a 15-year break from beauty building her career in development and training.  After taking time away, Alexis is thrilled to be back and diving into all the exciting changes in the industry. 

"I had the incredible opportunity to work alongside Ai at a beauty salon near Harajuku in Tokyo, an experience that remains one of the highlights of my career. Japan has always held a special place in my heart, so getting to collaborate with Ai again feels like a full-circle moment. "

Alexis's passion lies in facials and skincare.

"There’s nothing more rewarding than watching someone's skin transform and helping them achieve their best, most radiant self."

Alexis is also a mum to three gorgeous girls and one very furry little boy (meow!), which keeps her life full of energy and love! And, of course, she understands how mums need "me time".

Alexis is another crazy cat mummy of the VELOUR team. Her joy is to enjoy her "end of the night me time" with her fur bub Mochi. Alexis is absolutely in love with Japanese food and she loves the smelliest food, Natto!
